Daniela has over 12 years of professional experience, primarily in the tech industry. She started her career as an associate in Rubio Villegas, one of the largest corporate law firms in Mexico. Daniela also held in-house counsel at Pfizer and DuPont prior to joining Uber in 2016. At Uber, Daniela oversaw legal matters for the ride-sharing business and Uber Eats as Senior Counsel for Latin America. In this role, she supported the businesses’ expansion in more than 10 countries across the region. Most recently, Daniela was the Head of Legal for Swap, a Mexican fintech startup, and operated her own boutique law firm in Mexico City advising a wide range of Latin American clients in the tech industry with transactional, regulatory, corporate, and operational matters.
Outside of law, Daniela also co-founded Mujeres en Tech, an organization that empowers career progression for women in the technology field.
Daniela earned her LL.B. law degree from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM) and she earned an LL.M. from University of Toronto. In May 2022, Daniela graduated with an LL.M. from University of California, Berkeley, and she is a Candidate for the California Bar. She is only licensed to practice in Mexico.
